Cosmetic Dentistry
Did you know that your smile can say as much about you as your clothing and body language? Whether in a business situation or socialising privately, your teeth make a vital impression on all the people you come into contact with!
From closing front-tooth spacing with simple but highly effective adhesive fillings (no drilling!) to a complete smile makeover involving combined procedures like implants, crowns, veneers or even orthodontics, cosmetic solutions can be found for almost anyone.
Whilst you may be unhappy with only one misaligned tooth or a small gap, don’t underestimate the possibilities of creating a harmonious whole.
The effects time can have, shortening, darkening or otherwise damaging your teeth, can often be reversed through fairly simple proceedures. A simple bleaching can work wonders, giving a fading smile a real lift!
Cosmetic dentistry is not just about beauty and confidence, it’s also about health! Straight teeth are easier to care for. And adult orthodontics has never been easier, with the superb Invisalign system, the market – leader in invisible braces, to 6 - month techniques. We also offer free bleaching with every Invisalign treatment!
General Dentistry
This is the mainstay of any dental practice. Whether you are worried about caries (decay) in your teeth, need a simple denture (plate) to close a gap, are concerned by bleeding gums or simply need a check – up, we are pleased to be there for you.
General dentistry in Spain is normally reasonably priced, however the standard of work can be inconsistent. At the British Dental Centre not only are we very competitive but we offer a higher standard of care than many if not most of our competitors. Our referral business is way above the average so if you know anyone who is a patient of ours just ask the question.
Headache & Stress Therapy
Are your teeth badly worn? Do you break or crack teeth?
Do you suffer from headaches? Do you have muscle pain in your face? Do you have neck and shoulder pain?
Welcome to the world of the bruxist!
Simply ask yourself several times during the day, “What are my teeth doing now?”
If you catch yourself with your teeth together, you have been clenching or grinding!
The teeth should NEVER be together except momentarily during chewing.
Here is another piece of free advice. STOP IT!
Sometimes it’s enough to know you’re doing it and to keep monitoring it yourself. Occasionally, a simple device, covering the upper front teeth only, might be required for night wear to alleviate symptoms.
THIS SIMPLE DEVICE CAN OFTEN ALLEVIATE MIGRAINE!
I’m convinced we all do this while concentrating or under stress (eg living!) but early identification of the problem can prevent a lot of trouble.
Oral Surgery
Oral Surgery (Oral and Maxilloafacial Surgery) is a recognized international specialty in dentistry. It includes the diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the head, mouth, teeth, gums, jaws and neck.
It involves, but is not limited to: dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, apicoectomy, TMJ disorder, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology, osseous tissue surgery, anesthesia and bone grafts.
Prevention
One third of all people have a tendency to gum disease. This is genetically linked, so choose your parents carefully!
Gum disease can cause raised levels of both Cholesterol and sugar in the blood!.
Prevention is the best defence, so if you’re young enough, perfect oral hygiene may keep your gums healthy.
Longstanding gum disease needs a longstanding and usually very conservative treatment. Sometimes a regular (3 – monthly) professional cleaning to back up your home care is enough to prevent loss of teeth. Occasionally however, minor oral surgery may be required.
Unfortunately, not all dentists take the time to check the health of your gums or show you where future problems might be. As a preventive practice, the health of your gums is at the forefront of our philosophy.
Periodontal health is also crucial to the success of complicated aesthetic treatments; before we can place veneers or crowns, the gums must be healthy if we are to have lasting aesthetics.
